











Grade 1 ELAL Conventions
A fun and efficient way to learn language conventions. No Prep. Highly engaging, interactive student learning activities for teachers, students and parents. How to teach language arts to my Grade 1 student (6 year old) in homeschool or during a teacher strike/lockout. We are here to help you and your students!
Student Learning Outcomes:
Conventions: Capitalization, End Punctuation, Identify Sentence Types, Create Sentence Types, Gather & Record Factual Information, Create Sentence Types, Identify Nouns & Verbs, Letter Patterns & Phonemes. Examine and apply the use of grammar, spelling, and punctuation in oral and written language by: identifying (recognizing/examining), differentiating, applying (including), and saying (attempts):
a. Capitalization (first and last names, first word of a sentence, names of places, days of the week and months)
b. End punctuation
c. Identify sentence types (statements and questions)
d. Create sentence types (statements and questions)
e. Identify nouns & verbs
f. Letter patterns, phonemes & words (letter-sound (phonetics), word families, word parts, known sight words, visualization, unfamiliar/unpredictable words).
Unit Plans: 1,800 Student Learning Activities for Grade 1 English Language Arts & Literature based on the new LearnAlberta curriculum from Alberta Education. Includes embedded digital: instructional videos, visual and auditory word work functions and levelled reading books. There are 180 instructional days in the school year.
